The iMac has been built by Apple Inc. as the family of all-one Macintosh desktop computers. iMac has evolved through seven well-defined forms. iMac G3 was an egg-shaped look in its original form along with its CRT monitor. A colored, translucent plastic case surrounded it. iMac G4 was a second major revision. It came with an LCD monitor on a freely moving arm attached to it, and it has a hemispherical base containing all the main components design.
The iMac G5 and the Intel iMac, the third and fourth significant revisions placed all the components behind the display and created a slim design. In mid-2007, the fifth major revision was the same as the previous model, but the only difference is that it was thinner and used anodized aluminum and a glass panel over the front.
A different display unit was used in sixth major revision, it omits the SuperDrive, and various production techniques were used. Then comes towards the seventh major revision, in October 2014 the 27-inch iMac was announced with the main feature i.e. “Retina 5K” display at a resolution of 5120 × 2880 pixels. It came with a graphics chip, a new processor, IO, and few new options. In October 2015, the 21.5-inch iMac was announced with the main feature of Retina 4K” display at a resolution 4096 × 2304 pixels. Other things were the same as a 27-inch iMac.
This spring the latest update was released along with graphics cards and new processors. The starting price for the 21.5 inches is $1,299 and the 27-inch is $1,799. It is exceptionally a sleek computer whether you buy 21.5-inch or 27-inch sizes.
The new processors and graphic cards in the recent iMac are more capable and faster than the previous ones. The noise levels are improved by the Apple company along with the cooling efficiency. But the same designs and fans were used in these models too. The performance increases over the previous models, and the screen is more sharp, bright, and color accurate.
